I’ve found it!
After several awful weeks of my reading mojo going MIA (without my permission! Tsk!) I appear to have found it again.
Phew! That was a scary place to be for a bibliophile. Long hours at work and long hours in the gym have left me virtually no time in my life (or brain) for books and I was starting to freak out at my lack of interest in anything with pages and a spine.
I have actually read some books recently but although I enjoyed most of them, I was never actually looking forward to picking them up but I am overjoyed to report that I’m baaaaack!!!
I picked up Sophie Hannah’s new book Lasting Damage yesterday in Sainsbury’s (brand new hardback for only £6.49 – bargain!) and shoved it in my trolley. I haven’t been able to put the damn thing down since I got home (well, apart from the mammoth 13 hours sleep I had last night – I so needed that!).
So here I am, curled up with the fire on, cup of coffee, cats asleep on the sofa next to me, book in hand and enjoying the perfect Sunday! 🙂
Great you’ve got yourself such a good bargain that is too good to put down.
I’m glad you have your reading mojo back … try and keep hold of it! Happy reading.

Yay, Boof! I’m spending a wintry day writing (about summer), which is even more fun than reading because: a) I never know where my characters will take me, so it’s an adventure, and b) if they bore me I can tell them to smarten up and get on with the good stuff! : )

That’s so cool that you don’t know where they will take you, Gabriele. Is this another Muskoka or a stand alone?

One of my characters even refused to die in the war, and another one fell in love with someone other than I had intended! Yes, I’m working on Book 3 in the Muskoka Novels, set in the 1920s.

I also had a lazy sunday reading my Wilkie Collins with the cat napping by my side and watching an old black and white movie (Secret beyond the Door) in the sofa with my kids, having tea and a homemade cake.
back to work tomorrow (sigh)…

Hooray! Welcome back. Also, clearly I should get acquainted with Sophie Hannah. I’ve seen her be compared to Kate Atkinson a few times, so the odds that I’d like her are good.

Yay for the return of Reading Mojo!!! Please feel free to send some my way 😛 Although I am pretty hooked into what I’m working on right now (well the main book…my problem is starting 11 books at once…no wonder I can’t finish anything!!), I still can’t find much time to really delve in to any of what I want to read:( And I even had my four day birthday weekend last week, so I have no good excuse. But I feel the reading mojo will at least be back in three weeks….when I go on vacation!!! 😀
(And Boof, I absolutely love the graphic you have of the the girl chillin in the chair with her kitty napping nearby. L-O-V-E, love it!!!)

Hoorah! Glad that you have found your reading mojo again, its soooo horrid when that happens. I was having a funk with everything that has been going on and then had to read David Mitchell which I thought was going to kill me, instead its got me rather fired up and ready to try some new things.
Sophie Hannah is great isnt she? I am soooo looking forward to this one. Though I do have to read A Room Swept White first.

Lucky! I can’t seem to manage more than 15 pages a day lately it seems. Queue sympathetic head nods or judgmental ‘tsk tsk’s now. It’s horrible, I know. PLEASE send me some of that mojo!
