Here are the recent arrivals at Chez Whisperer:
These books have been sent to me by publishers and I am looking forward to every single one of them!
Lark Rise to Candleford by Flora Thompson
The House at Sea’s End by Elly Griffiths
When God was a Rabbit by Sarah Winman
The Weed That Strings the Hangmans Bag by Alan Bradley
A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness
Well if nobody else want to buy me books then I have no choice but to buy them for myself 😉 Here is my latest loot:
Sister Carrie by Theodore Dreiser
Miral by Rula Jebreal
This Bleeding City by Alex Preston
Alone in Berlin by Hans Fallada
The Complete Book of Fairy Tales by The Brothers Grimm
The Leopard by Jo Nesbo
Wow, a nice selection of books. I haven’t heard of many of them, and certainly not read any, except maybe the Grimm fairy tales, in another life time.
Hope you have fun with these books! Happy reading.

Oh of course, I want the alan Bradley , I have “the Sweetness…” at home but have not read it yet, I find these titles very appealing.
I love Mrs Bovary because it takes place in my birthplace area but I admit she is not a very likeable character.

I am most jealous of your arrivals, since I have moved I have had one book come through the post box. Apparently there are lots of them at my old address which should be being redirected by Royal Mail… and arent!

Very nice selection! How exciting! It’s always so interesting for me to see what your editions look like.
I too have Bradley’s second one to read; it’s a purple trade paperback. I loved The Sweetness so I’ve been looking forward to this for some time. Hey, if you guys end up vacationing in Malta, as so many Brits do, look him up and ask him to sign your copies! 🙂
