  1. Wow, a nice selection of books. I haven’t heard of many of them, and certainly not read any, except maybe the Grimm fairy tales, in another life time.

Hope you have fun with these books! Happy reading.

  2. I got The Weed That Strings the Hangman’s Bag for Christmas, but haven’t read it yet. I’m looking forward to it because I loved The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie. I haven’t read any of the others, though Alone in Berlin has been on my wish list for ages!

  4. Ooh lovely books. I notice that you also have Madame Bovary in your stash but not in your list (which incidentally is the only one I’ve read). Very interesting book (although I didn’t really like Mrs B myself. Look forward to your thoughts!

  5. Oh of course, I want the alan Bradley , I have “the Sweetness…” at home but have not read it yet, I find these titles very appealing.
I love Mrs Bovary because it takes place in my birthplace area but I admit she is not a very likeable character.

  6. Wow, the books you get sent for review! I am jealous of every single one (except Madame Bovary which I own already). Especially the Lark Rise book, it looks so pretty and I have been meaning to read it for forever!

  7. The only one I have read is the Alan Bradley and I loved it, but I love the series full stop.

I am most jealous of your arrivals, since I have moved I have had one book come through the post box. Apparently there are lots of them at my old address which should be being redirected by Royal Mail… and arent!

  8. Very nice selection! How exciting! It’s always so interesting for me to see what your editions look like.

I too have Bradley’s second one to read; it’s a purple trade paperback. I loved The Sweetness so I’ve been looking forward to this for some time. Hey, if you guys end up vacationing in Malta, as so many Brits do, look him up and ask him to sign your copies! 🙂
